Lesson 2: Challenger The next step in your kiteboarding progression

 

 

 

 

The Challenger Programme builds on the Discovery lesson and takes you to IKO Level 2, the next level. However, you really need to have at least 8-10hrs flying a 2m or 3m trainer kite (which we can hire out for you) before we step up to this lesson. Without that kite flying confidence and experience, you simply will not be ready to focus on the Challenge of this lesson

BOARDWORK!

In this lesson, the aim is to get you on the kiteboard for the first time. It won't be for long or very far but its that thrill, that feeling that you need to replicate time and time again until it becomes second nature. You'll learn about the principles and procedures for a water start. You'll learn about the water and wind conditions and how to use them to your advantage when starting out. You'll also learn that the boardwork theory is easy and simply needs dedicated practice in the water.

NOTE: Sometimes people need more than two lessons to progress. Thats OK! We prefer that you learn at your own pace SAFELY rather than progress quickly through the lessons without understanding the theory and practice to be confident. Everyone learns at their own pace and we respect that!

Cost: $195 per person, Two and a half hours.

Students per session: Max two students.

Entry Level

• Minimum as per the Discovery Lesson Entry Level 1
• Or equivalent level of kite flying skill (to be assesed by our instructor)
• Min 8 hours of trainer kite flying practice.
